This piece employs an overlapping construction technique in which individual layers of clay are built up, joined, and subtly shifted to create a sense of rhythm and movement across the surface. The visible seams and contours celebrate the process of hand-building, emphasizing the dialogue between structure and texture. Rather than concealing the method of its making, the overlapping forms become an integral part of the work’s aesthetic, revealing the maker’s gesture and the clay’s inherent plasticity.

Winter Woods glaze features a soft, creamy foundation embedded with brown crystals. During firing, the crystals melt and flow, forming organic speckles and earthy tones reminiscent of bark, soil, and the quiet texture of a forest in winter.

The cup is handbuilt (without an electric potters wheel) which makes every piece exceptionally unique.
